I’ve never worked with an Interior Designer and don’t know the process. How do we start?

Congratulations on taking the first step by checking out our site! We recommend starting the process by filling out the contact form . From there, we will review the information and reach out to you to schedule a complimentary 20-minute phone call. During this call, we’ll discuss your project goals, timeline, and budget. We’ll also share our process, to determine if we’re a good fit, and answer any questions you have about working together.

How much will my project cost in design fees?

We recommend booking a pre-paid, 90-minute in-home design consultation where we’ll walk through your space, take notes, and gather the information we need to prepare a design fee proposal for your project. After the consultation, we’ll prepare a detailed proposal to outline our scope of work, suggested project budget, and estimated timeline.

I’d like you to design my whole home. I have $10,000 to invest. Can you help?

There are many factors that influence a budget. While we would love to help, good design is an investment. For our full-service residential design, and for smaller areas or rooms in a home, our clients typically have furnishing budgets beginning at $25,000 and renovation construction budgets beginning at $50,000. For larger areas or bigger scopes of work, our clients typically have budgets beginning at $50,000 for furnishings and have budgets beginning at $150,000 for construction costs.

We recommend prioritising key areas that require immediate attention, tackling any areas you can yourself, if possible, and saving up until you can invest more robustly in your renovation.

What if I don’t need full-service design?

Every project is different and some projects “only” need a face-lift. We will be able to recommend the best path for you after our consultation. However, what makes our work award-winning is our full-service design. We offer incredible value, guidance and stunning results when entrusted to take on a project from concept to project coordination.

Do you only design modern interiors?

Every project and interior we take on is different. First and foremost, we are creative problem solvers. Our work skews more modern and minimalist, and our clients are attracted to our style. However, we do take on projects where requested styles may be more transitional or ornate, if we feel we can vibe well with the clients and can offer our best service.

Do you only design hair salons?

While we are specialists in salon design, we do not limit ourselves. Our experience encompasses residential and commercial interiors. Giovanna started designing hair salons and day spas exclusively in 2000. In 2011, she transitioned to designing other spaces - such as large condominium developments and presentation centres, restaurants, commercial offices, and luxury private residences.

Since starting Proggetti Inc. in 2017, Giovanna has been entrusted with the design of her client’s homes. We currently have residential design projects nearing the finish line and will post photographs soon!

Are you a design-build firm?

Our focus is solely interior design. We design and prepare detailed drawings that are then issued to your contractor, tradespeople, and fabricators. If you do not have a contractor in mind, we can provide referrals.

I work full-time Monday to Friday. Can we meet during the evening or weekend?

We are available Monday-Thursday 9am-5pm and Friday 9am-2pm. We appreciate our hours may not work for everyone.  We do need our personal time to recharge so we can be our best creative selves for our clients!

I’m getting the keys to a leased space next month. I’d like to open right away. Can you help me?

Congratulations! While we would love to help, good design and construction requires time. The design phase for our full-service design for a commercial space requires a minimum of two months, with construction requiring a minimum of 4 months, depending on the scope of work. We recommend securing a designer 6-8 months in advance of any upcoming deadlines. For further information regarding our design process, please check out our blog.

I saw a photo of a reception desk on your site. How much does it cost?

Thank you for the interest! We love this item too and spent a lot of time designing it, sourcing the materials, and coordinating with the fabricator to make sure it would be perfect for our client’s space.

This is a custom-designed item made specifically for our client. While this item is not available to purchase through us, you can engage us to design your very own reception desk (or other custom millwork or fixture) and we will refer you to fabricators. Do you sell salon equipment?

Our focus is solely interior design. We design and prepare detailed interior drawings and documents, as well as custom design millwork and fixtures (mirrors, styling stations, etc.). Our design fees are not contingent on you purchasing any equipment, fixtures or millwork from us. When it comes time to selecting salon chairs and shampoo sinks, you have choices. We can refer you to our salon industry partners and fabricators.
